Insurance Restoration and Repair
Serving the Lansing area, Howell and Brighton, Michigan
Let’s put your home back together
Property damage can leave you with a disrupted home and a lot of unanswered questions. You need someone who understands the repairs, knows how to work with the people involved and can carry the construction through to completion.
Zischke Builders helps homeowners throughout Greater Lansing, Howell and Brighton rebuild after damage. Owner Jesse Zischke has worked alongside mitigation companies and insurance adjusters for years, helping homeowners work through repair questions and get their homes back together.
You do not need to have everything figured out before contacting us.
A contractor who understands the work
You may be looking at damage for the first time. A mitigation company may already be removing affected materials. Or you may have an insurance estimate and need a contractor to rebuild.
Zischke can get involved while those decisions are taking shape. Jesse personally measures and estimates each project, bringing years of construction and insurance-repair experience to the conversation.
We assess the affected areas, review the work already completed and talk with you about what the repairs will involve. That helps turn an unfamiliar situation into a construction plan you can understand.
Work through the details
Jesse has years of experience communicating with adjusters about repair scopes, materials and construction costs. With your permission, he can discuss the proposed work with your adjuster and coordinate with the mitigation company.
When there are questions about an estimate or additional conditions come to light, we can explain what the construction requires and help keep the conversation moving.
Manage the rebuild through the finishing details
Once the project is ready for reconstruction, Zischke coordinates the trades and stages of the work. Framing, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, tile, painting, trim, and plumbing or electrical coordination can all be part of the same repair project.
Whether the damage affects one room or several, you have a contractor looking at how the whole job comes together—not just the next item on the list.
Get your home back to normal or better
For some homeowners, the goal is simple: restore the home they had and get back to everyday life.
For others, rebuilding opens a conversation about something they have wanted to change. A kitchen may need more useful storage. A damaged basement may be an opportunity to rethink the layout. Replacing cabinetry or flooring may make it practical to choose a different look.
Zischke brings the same remodeling and finish-carpentry capabilities to insurance repairs that we bring to planned renovations. We can help you consider those possibilities while keeping the repair work and the finished home in view.
Optional improvements are discussed and priced separately from insurance-related repairs, so you can decide what makes sense before moving forward.
Rebuilding a kitchen after a burst pipe
Project introduction:
After mitigation, this kitchen needed much more than a few repairs. Zischke worked with the homeowner to rebuild the space, bringing cabinetry, countertops, flooring, drywall, paint and finish details together into a complete kitchen again.
